Design [and] & our health

Résumé / Abstract
$a In the first decade of the 21st century, our populations started getting older, sicker and unhealthier, caused by issues linked to an aging world, sedentary lifestyles and the rise of disabilities. I would like to ask "Can design save our healthcare system?". I look into how medical design can provide the solutions needed, from the hospital room to the patient's house. I analyzed how design thinking if offering technosocial devices and humanizing technology to create an embolden era of "Citizen Patient". I determine how design thinking is compelling people to take health into their own hands, by providing them with cognitive and enjoyable medical objects. I study how designers are translating patient information and data, to empower people to make the right choices. I also look at how this process is helping those living in extreme conditions, from the third-world to those with disabilities.
