Clothing as memory-container

Type de document
Résumé / Abstract
$a This thesis is about considering old clothing as 'memory-container', a new function that deprives clothes from their main function: to dress and protect the body. Because of this, a problem of transmission appears for France toward these garments. This thesis does not pretend to find an answer to this wide problem but will focus on specific situations to understand the behaviours it produces and its origin. Also, because it is confined to a single culture and a single eye, it seems the issue needs to be opened. We assume this narrow point of view is part of the problem, and confronting it with the very contrasted Japanese culture should highlight the causes of this problem.
